House Rules
These rules are mandatory for all guests and host families of the Kaz Homestay program (kazakhstanhomestay.com). Following these rules is the foundation of a comfortable and safe stay.
Rules for Guests
- Guests must bring their own toiletries (shampoo, toothpaste, personal towels, etc.).
- Guests are responsible for any damage to property. The condition of the room and belongings is recorded in an inventory report upon check-in.
- Alcohol is not permitted in the host family's home.
- Inviting overnight guests without prior approval from the host is not allowed.
- Return home by 22:00. If you are running late, please notify your host via WhatsApp.
- Keep your room clean and tidy at all times.
- Clean up after yourself in the bathroom or shower.
- If you will not be dining at home, please let your host know by 15:00 so the family does not cook extra.
- Do not bring strangers into the home without the host's knowledge.
- Help with household chores when possible.
- Do not share personal information about the host family with third parties.
- If you wish to leave early, notify the agency in writing at least 1 month in advance. Otherwise, a penalty equivalent to 1 month's rent will be charged.
Rules for Host Families
- Always knock before entering the guest's room.
- Do not share the guest's personal information with third parties.
- Provide the guest with breakfast and dinner daily.
- Keep common areas of the home clean.
Cultural Context
In Kazakh culture, it is common to show interest in guests — asking about family, work, and the purpose of their visit. This is a sign of warmth and hospitality, not an intrusion of privacy. You are always free to decline answering any questions you consider personal.
House-Specific Rules
Each host family may have additional rules: pets, quiet hours, religious restrictions, kitchen access, etc. These rules are listed on the host family's profile and communicated to the guest before the stay is confirmed.
